Named after the famous harmonica player Lee Oskar from War.
The Major Diatonic harmonica is the most commonly used tuning for playing Blues Rock Country Folk & Jazz.
Major Diatonic harps are produced by several manufacturers using various names such as Blues Harp Marine Band Golden Melody Big River Special 20 Pro Harp Folk Master Star Performer etc.
Although the cover plates are stamped with a variety of different names for marketing purposes all of these harmonicas have the exact same notation layout as the Lee Oskar Major Diatonic.
The most important difference is in the quality of materials construction design and sound. Lee Oskars are the best harmonicas in the world and that's not just our opinion.

Bought one of these back in 2020, played very little and ended up getting rid of it. Giving it another shot and did some shopping around. HarmonicaLand had a better price and lead time than Amazon, and even showed up a day or two early! So far it\'s been far more enjoyable than playing on a cheep $15 harp. I\'m very very new, only know a basic scale and started on jingle bells, but having a quality instrument makes the learning process so much easier and fun!

I purchased the Lee Oskar diatonic in C major. Very nice tone. As a retired person and a beginner, the Lee Oskar is easier for me doing single notes. Still can’t do singles notes well at all, the LO is easier to learn single notes. In my view, the special 20 are two excellent harps worth having. Harmonica Land got the harp to me ahead of time. Highly recommend.

First think I noticed is the weight of this instrument is more than the other less priced ones. And, it is heavy duty built! That means that the reeds will hold tune longer! This harmonica should be sold as "heavy duty" instrument!

I have been playing this for almost a week and even though I?m relatively new at it a bit disappointed with the Lee Oskar. Out of the box the scales played well (C) but the ten hole no matter if it?s a light blow or draw rarely sounds out a stable not, more of a screech. I realize that it is the highest note but some songs need you play it. Then a few days later the seven hole went flat on the draw again without me honking on the harp. After giving it a solid blow it came loose and is ok now. Really looked forward to playing this but having a hard time liking it. Fit and finish are good but I guess I was spoiled by the Harmo Polar purchased from Harmonicaland. I may get another set of reed plates and give that a shot but being new shouldn?t have to do that.

I stepped up from hohner a while back. Now I have 7 Lee Oskar Tombo harps. They are bullet proof! I don't play enough to reward myself with a $300 12 hole, but they sound a lot better than Hohner did when I ditched them.

The Low register diatonic harmonicas offer some rich tones, and the Lee Oskar are tops for performance in my experience. If you haven't tried Lee Oskar harmonica, and you haven't tried the Low register harmonicas, you are mission out. The Low register harmonica allows you to reach the middle notes of the regular diatonic as well as give you some rich lower tones that should not be missed. Try one, and then, like me you will probably buy more..

I have purchased several Lee Oakar harmonicas. All have played perfectly when I got them and they sound great too. I highly recommend them. The Low D, as well as the Low C, the Low E, and the Low F harmonicas are not to be missed. If you don't have a low register harmonica, just try one and you'll be hooked.
