Harmo Torpedo Diatonic Harmonica - overblow setup

I was blown away by the sturdiness and sound of this harmonica! Best I\'ve played by FAR!

The manual reed setup makes a HUGE difference!

Very comfortable to play. Lovely sound. Just learning to do bends. It is as good or better for bends than any of the other 3 I have. It is much heavier than Hohner Piedmont Blues and also heavier than my Hohner Marine-Band 1896. I take this as a sign of quality. I also like that the comb is not wood so that I can clean it with hot soapy water.

These harmonicas are the best for overblowing, the manual reed setup clearly makes a huge difference.

This is a fantastic instrument. It bends so easily and it is loud without much effort. Feels comfortable too. I can get overbends with it. The cover plates are a little further apart than the Marine Band but not as much as the Seydel. The weight is between a Marine Band and the 1847 Seydel too. I\'m not planning on replacing my beloved Marine Band Deluxes with the Torpedo, but I sure will use this baby in specific situations. Might get a key of D as well. If you\'re buying your first really nice Harmonica and can\'t decide if you should try the Torpedo, yeah, you should give it a whirl. It might not be for you but it\'s certainly not a joke and is up there with top end Hohners and Seydels. I liked it a lot.

Great harmonica with a very powerful tone and sound. All the notes are easy to play and respond very fast. Totally worth the price.

I can't overblow but it's a damn good blues harp!

does anyone else have a problem with one low draw note on a G harp? not on this one

I own other models from other brands and the Torpedo is simply better than the rest.

I own and play most of the popular brands and models. I stepped out of the box a few purchases ago and bought my first Harmo Torpedo. This is my 3 Torpedo purchase. Best sounding, Strong, a joy pleasure to play and never a broken reed. Just romp on it.

The best harmonica I've owned so far. Louder and easier to play than my Crossovers. Much better not only for overblows but overall. Looking forward to try the Custom Harmonicas now !

I really like the tone and playability of this harmo torpedo and plan on replacing some of my other harps in my most used keys.

I don't know why I saw someone rip these harps online, because they play as advertised, smooth, easy to bend, loud, clean and clear. AND a BARGAIN!!

Quel plaisir cet harmonica,enfin un instrument à la hauteur. Léger, solide ,un son qui a la purete d'un diamant, un son clair .Bien en main aucune difficulté à sortir les overblows. Le Torpedo mérite bien son nom ,un petit souffle et les notes sortent comme une torpille droit au but, un son harmonieux quelque soit le genre de musique joué. C'est un plaisir je recommande vivement.

The reedwork on those harmonicas is comparable to high-end work done by top customizers like Joe Filisko … minus the price. I am amazed at how loud, easy to bend and overblow this harmonica is. Then I looked again at the price and I am just speechless. It's pure magic !

The torpedo is an amazing value for money if you want a great overblow harmonica with amazing responsiveness and tone!

I just got my Bb Harmo Torpedo harmonica in the mailbox and as a Blues player looking to expand on Jazz I trierd a lot of models. Most of them squeal when I overblow and some overbneds would not come out. With the Torpedo I was able to get almost all the overbends except a few that TBH I need to practice more. Knowing that this harmonica was setup by David Herzhaft is a huge + as he is one of the best diatonic and overblowing player you can tell the reed setup is just so much better than any OTB harmonicas.

Played right out of the box as expected. Superb tone whether playing low and melodic or harder with more accent.

Apres avoir essaye avec beaucoup de satisfaction deux torpedos C et D, j'ai fais l'acquisition d'un A et d'un Bb. La presentation est toujours tres soignee, boite, etui...Mais surtout j'ai retrouve dans ces deux nouveaux harmos les qualites des 2 premiers :

Excellent setup pour les overblows
Son rond et chaud
Reglage des lamelles a la main pour declenchement ideal de la note

I play a lot of country music and Bluegrass but have worked on JAzz standards as well. To me the TOrpedo is the most versatile and precise harmonica I've ever owned. I currently have a C D A and Bb and will buy some more. The manual reedwork makes a huge difference with the other top dollar models that are just factory set up.
I love my Torpedo!
